This week, the blogging community launched a tribute to one of it's members - Crunchy Chicken. It was the book clubs that first drew me in, but I stayed, of course, for the true inspiration that is Crunchy.
Each day she regales us with her stories - her successes and her frustrations, but it is her daily struggle with her husband's illness that has moved me most. Though my condition is not as severe, I know what it's like to live with a chronic illness and the frustration (and at times hopelessness) of living with chronic pain. Yet every day, as she serves as wife, mother, worker, caregiver and blogger, her spirit is light yet strong. I have so much admiration for all that she does, for her bravery in fighting her husband's illness, and joy she brings to so many others through her charity - Goods for Girls.
Because of my illness, I had largely isolated myself from the rest of the world - so many hours spent at home in bed. I just never know when the pain will start or how long it will last. Crunchy Chicken was one of the first blogs I started reading and it was like freedom. As I started getting to know her and other bloggers through their sites, it opened up a opportunity for me to enjoy the companionship of so many people, particularly on those days that it was hard to get out of bed. It offered me the connection with others that I so deeply needed. And of course, Crunchy, it was because of you I actually started my own blog. Now, as I slowly become stronger, I am building relationships with wonderful friends here at home as well. My husband has remarked at the amazing difference in my spirit and my renewed enthusiasm for life.
A million thank yous for all you are, for all you do; for your bravery, your strength, and your inspiration. May you find treasure in all life has yet to show you.

P.S. If you've never visited, check out Crunchy Chicken's blog here and of course, there's always a link on the right hand side of this site where I list all my favorite blogs. Enjoy!

Beautiful. I love hearing how Crunchy touches everyone. What is coming across loud and clear is that there is often no one thing. Each of us are inspired by something different about her, which is pretty amazing.
That was such a beautiful tribute. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Heather, glad you are feeling a part of the community, it really is wonderful that at the touch of a button we can be anywhere in the world learning from some amazing people.
Blessings:)
