As a member and advocate of the local food movement, I'm really interested to hear what he has to say (and, I admit, perhaps debate a little). The luncheon is free and open to the public. All they ask is that you RSVP your attendance so they order enough food for lunch.
Here's the full scoop:
What: CommUnity Conversation with Dr. James McWilliams
When: Tuesday, September 29 (11:30-1:00)
Where: Rudder 401
RSVP: to either Wanda Martin or Dianne Kraft
Hope to see you there!

very interesting. especially the "where locavores get it wrong" part. i know you are going to give us a recap afterward.
Heather, James, who sells preserves and trees at Farmers' Market, and I missed you at the McWilliams lecture, which was enlightening, but obvious he is a historian, rather than a food scientist.
James called me and said I would have loved debating with this guy. I really wanted to be there, but when I left the house, it had just finished raining and within 15 minutes (on the bike), I was completely covered with mud. So I just came home and took a shower. Last night I got tire fenders so it shouldn't be a problem again...
