Living green and off the grid

"New York Times' Adam B. Ellick visits a former college professor who now owns and works on an organic farm that produces its own power and, for the most part, avoids the whims of the wider economy."

Awesome video - check it out!

I so look forward to the day I am debt free. I am not going to say we are the type of people who shop at Macy's and run our cards up that way, no, we used our cards to buy food and gas.

But guess what? We have since cut up our cards, started settling our debt and we are still surviving. I will 'never' have a credit card again...ever. They wreak!

Thanks for sharing the video!! I sent it to dozens of friends. I'm very intrigured by their wind turbine as I live in an area where wind farms are sprouting up. We can't get one in our neighborhood, but it's on the list when we move out to the farm. :)

Red - GOOD job on cutting up the credit cards. They do much more harm than people think.

Red - Good for you! That's really brave!

Melissa - I love the whole video but my favorite part was when the husband says, "Has it been 10 years. Huh." Dave and I were both cracking up :) But to be so independent. Totally cool!
